The Guild Code
AuraNet is for adults (18+). Every explorer swears to this code when they join, on the Guild Portal and in our Discord. It keeps the guild a place where everyone can enjoy the story. The code covers the game, the Guild Portal and the Discord server alike.
Article 1: Respect every explorer
Treat other players with kindness, in and out of character. No harassment, hate speech, slurs or personal attacks. Disagreements happen; settle them politely or ask staff to help.
Article 2: Keep IC and OOC apart
What your character says and does is in character (IC). What you, the player, say is out of character (OOC). Use the OOC channels for OOC talk, and never hold an IC grudge against a player for something said OOC, or the other way round.
Article 3: No metagaming
Your character only knows what they have seen, heard or been told in the story. Don't use things you learned OOC (from Discord, a stream, or another player) to give your character an edge.
Article 4: No godmodding
Don't decide what happens to other players' characters, and don't make your own character unbeatable. Let others react in their own way, and accept that your explorer can fail, get hurt or be wrong.
Article 5: Play fair with the game
No cheats, exploits, bots or modified clients. If you find a bug that gives an advantage, report it to staff and don't use it.
Article 6: One account per player
Each player has one account and plays the characters on it. Sharing accounts or making extra accounts to get around a decision is not allowed.
Article 7: Adult content stays private
Everything public (the world, public chat, the forum, profiles and Discord's open channels) stays suitable for everyone. Adult roleplay is only allowed in private, between players who hold the 18+ role, have turned adult content on in their settings, and all agree. Anyone can stop or leave at any moment, no reason needed, and a private scene can still be reported to staff. Never with AI partners or bots, and never in a shared or public space. Some content is never allowed, private or not. When in doubt, ask staff.
Article 8: Staff decisions and appeals
Staff make the final call in the moment, so the game can go on. If you disagree, don't argue it out in public: open a ticket within seven days (on the Guild Portal's Help desk or in Discord) and explain what happened. A different staff member will look at it.
Article 9: The guild is 18+
Every explorer must be 18 or older. You declare it yourself when you accept this code (the checkmark in Discord's #rules), and that gives you the 18+ role: we don't ask for ID. If staff have reason to doubt a player's age (someone tells us, or it simply seems so), the player is held for review: adult content and most channels close for them while staff talk it through in a private channel. If staff learn that a player is younger, the account is closed, whatever the story. Lying about your age is a serious breach of this code.
Article 10: Warnings
Breaking the code earns a warning from staff, with the reason written down. Warnings add up, and each one is a step on the same ladder:
- First warning: a reminder of the rule. Nothing else happens.
- Second warning: a one-hour timeout (you can read, not write).
- Third warning: a 24-hour timeout.
- Fourth warning: a seven-day timeout and a staff review of your account.
- Fifth warning: staff decide whether you stay. This can mean a ban from the game, the Guild Portal and the Discord.
A warning fades after 90 days, so one bad evening doesn't follow you forever. Serious harm (threats, hate, anything involving minors, doxxing, cheating that hurts others) can skip the ladder and lead straight to a ban. You can see your own warnings, and you can appeal any of them with a ticket (Article 8).
Article 11: Staff have the final say
These rules can't foresee everything. Where they are silent or unclear, staff decide what fits the spirit of the code, and that decision stands. Arguing with staff in public, or asking another staff member until one says yes, is itself against the code: use an appeal.
Article 12: The code can change
Staff may change this code at any time, as the guild grows. Big changes are announced in the news and on Discord, and the current code is always the one on this page. By playing, posting or chatting after a change, you agree to the code as it stands.
